Micro-dermabrasion is a safe, non-surgical procedure which gently resurfaces the skin.  Medical grade mineral crystals or a diamond tip is used to perform this type of exfoliation which removes dead and damaged cells at the skin's surface.  By eliminating these surface cells, the skin is left soft and supple while forcing the regeneration of new skin cells.

Micro-dermabrasion treats:

Hyperpigmentation

Fine lines

Sun damaged skin

Blemishes

Dull and congested skin

Uneven skin tones and textural damaged skin

Enlarged pores

Men and women of all skin types and colour can be treated.  Anyone with congested, flaky, dry, devitalized, thickened, blemished and sun damaged skin will experience a rejuvenated, healthy complexion.  Blotchiness, uneven skin tones and texture will also be improved.  A number of areas on the body can be treated.  The most common areas include the face, neck, back, arms and hands.

Micro-dermabrasion is preferred by many people over the alternatives of dermabrasion or chemical peels because it is much gentler and there is no recovery time.  You can have micro-dermabrasion performed over your lunch hour and return to work immediately after.  Although results are subtler, those who have had the treatment find that their skin is more radiant, smooth and youthful.

You may experience a slight tingling and the skin may feel tighter after treatment.  In some instances flaking may occur, thus it is important to cleanse frequently with the use of good home care products as advised by our skin care specialists for optimal results.

The treatment takes approximately 45 minutes and a series of 4-12 treatments are recommended to achieve the best results.   Treatments will occur at 1-2 week intervals or as otherwise specified by your skin care professional.   The results of micro-dermabrasion can be enhanced when combined with IPL photo-facial treatments.
